We just returned from a great week in Las Vegas, NV for the AWS re:Invent Conference. The conference brought together over 13,500 developers, architects and many other technical users of the Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure for an intensive four-day event. It is the year’s top spot to dive deep into the most pressing AWS topics and issues as well as learn about new services and brings the entire AWS ecosystem together.
Threat Stack at AWS re:Invent
Booth, Demos, Community
This year was our first time attending re:Invent as a team, and we were especially looking forward to meeting with hundreds of AWS users -- many of which are our own customers -- at our booth in the exhibit hall. We had a constant flow of visitors at our booth, gave hundreds of demos, and had great conversations with attendees about security and the best way to protect their EC2 workloads. One of the biggest trends we noticed while talking with re:Invent attendees was the large number of enterprise companies in attendance, making their move to the cloud with a strong interest in the technology around AWS, such as Threat Stack, to make that transition happen seamlessly and securely.
Featuring Gene Kim
On top of that, we hosted Gene Kim, author of The Phoenix Project, on Wednesday for a free book signing. Gene signed over 75 books and met fans of his business novel that tells the story of an IT manager who had ninety days to rescue an over-budget and late IT initiative.
Threat Stack Product Launch at re:Invent
The most anticipated moment of re:Invent, and the one our entire team had been looking forward to, was the thrill and honor of being selected by AWS, among just a handful of other companies, to join Amazon's CTO, Dr. Werner Vogels, on stage during his Startup Launch Keynote to introduce and launch our services to the entire AWS community! In case you missed it, here is a video of our presentation on stage at the big event.
Highlights from the Community
We’re already anticipating the AWS re:Invent Conference in 2015 -- it is sure to be at the top of our annual events calendar. In the meantime, we look forward to seeing you all at several upcoming AWS events, including AWS San Francisco and the AWS NYC Summit.
